Recognizing Adkins Arboretum’s important mission of conserving the Chesapeake Bay region’s native landscapes, Lake/Flato Architects of San Antonio, Tex., has joined numerous local and regional businesses as Green Supporter sponsors for Adkins Arboretum’s fifth annual Magic in the Meadow signature fundraiser. “By sponsoring Magic in the Meadow, these corporations have embraced Adkins Arboretum as an important community asset,” said Arboretum Executive Director Ellie Altman. “We are delighted to welcome these generous new partners.”
Lake/Flato Architects, designer of the W. Flaccus and Ruth B. Stifel Center at Adkins Arboretum, is known nationally for environmentally sensitive designs and use of indigenous materials. The firm joins Accounting Strategies Group, Brodie Collins Consulting, Chester River Health System, PNC, Shore Health System, and Valliant & Associates as the event’s Green Supporter sponsors. Spy Publications, Tidewater Times and Tidewater Trader are media sponsors, and CNB is the 2012 Magic in the Meadow lead corporate sponsor.
Set for Sat., Sept. 29, Magic in the Meadow will celebrate the beauty of the Arboretum’s 400 acres of majestic gardens, meadows and forests while directly supporting the Arboretum’s education and conservation programs. The twilight event promises an enchanting evening under the stars, with wines, cocktails, tantalizing local fare prepared by the Eastern Shore’s premier caterer, PeachBlossoms, and the music of B Natural, featuring Pres Harding on guitar and a special appearance by renowned pianist Joe Holt.
The evening’s exciting live auction will offer an array of fabulous travel opportunities, including trips to Argentina, the mountains of Washington State, London’s Chelsea Flower Show and more, as well as the “Trustees’ Choice,” a collection of 24 fine wines selected by the Arboretum’s Board of Trustees.
Tickets for Magic in the Meadow are $125 per person and may be reserved at www.magicinthemeadow.org, by e-mailing [email protected], or by calling Meg Gallagher at 410-634-2847, ext. 23. Sponsorship opportunities as well as tables for ten are available for reservation.
