Under normal circumstances, I would have never spent any November days in Chestertown while going to college in Canada – they don’t have a holiday that coincides with American Thanksgiving. In the fall of 2007 I made the trip however, for the funeral of local musician and friend Brandon Cole. It was a strange time for the Kent County youth music scene – recently revitalized by the under-21 venue Jimmie’s Deposit Box and then suffering such a loss.
It was under those somber circumstances though that I met Kyle Wilson (nom de guerre K-0TiC Couture though at that time he was going by Rockstar K-0TiC). We already somewhat knew each other, this being Kent County and everyone having mutual friends, but he was four grades below me, so we were never in the same school at the same time.
I ran into Kyle outside The Box that week, and he played me a song he recorded with some friends off his cell phone. Right there I was like “yeah I’m gonna produce for y’all” and started working on “Head To The Exit” once I got back to Toronto. That song is in the style of Baltimore club music, which Kyle also introduced me to (before then I only knew of The Percolator that was played at all the school dances).
Five years later and we’ve both grown a lot – me in my DJing as tha 1 who Trevs, mixing, and production; Kyle in his vocals, lyrics, and style. I enlisted him to contribute verses to nearly every remix contest I entered, and we’ve gotten coverage on some fairly major blogs for our efforts, like First Up, Generation Bass, T&A, and Mad Decent. Last year we put out a mixtape called “Overslept On” that was a “best of” compilation for K-0TiC Couture, with a third of the tracks being produced or remixed by me.
This year we released the mixtape “Up All Night” and a video for one of its track. For spring break this year we’ll be doing a few shows around Chestertown, as well as one in Philly. The dates are:
Chestertown
Friday March 9 – Narnia Underground (contact for address) w/ Wray King, Dutch Williams, and more
Saturday March 10 – Queen Anne’s Bowl for Glow Bowl
Sunday March 11 – The Ramp for East Coast Skates w/ Tony Reyy & more
Philadelphia
Thursday March 15 at Kung Fu Necktie (Philly) for Strictly Dope w/ Mr. Manic, Kuf Knotz, Apple Juce, and more

Allright Trevor!
You can be our guide. Please remember much of what you mention didn’t exist just a few years ago and you gotta go slow for the interested old farts around here. I think every musical innovator in history would envy the position your generation is in. You can be the studio, the artist and the promotion company. How cool is that!
Please bring more stuff…but explain the terms. You would be surprised at how mush we do not know! But let me just leave it at that….and leave you with an inspiration from my own past that was able to answer many of life’s questions.

Hey Ken,
Mush is my best thing!
These guys are doing stuff I don’t know much about. I liked the sample the Trevorman presented……feel me there bro?
If I understand them they could / would take a sample from The Surfin Bird (Who doesn’t respect the bird?) and hang other stuff on the tracks or use little bird pieces to make something else.
This is mush better!
