Several Eastern Shore area Zumba® Dance-Fitness Instructors are hosting a “Zumbathon” dance party fundraiser to benefit the American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. The 3-hour dance party is open to the public of all ages and will be held Saturday, January 30, from 1 to 4 PM, at the Cain Athletic Center on campus. The Zumbathon will feature an afternoon of fun, music, dancing, and demonstrations. The event is “open house,” so guests may drop in for a few songs or stay for the afternoon. Parking is free. A suggested donation of $10 is requested; checks are preferred (checks can be made payable to “American Red Cross”). All donations are fully tax deductible and 100% of money raised goes directly to the American Red Cross.
The Zumbathon is a family-friendly event and attendees are encouraged, but not required, to participate. Spectators are welcome. Participants should wear comfortable workout clothing, bring bottled water, and clean-soled aerobic shoes are recommended. No experience is necessary.
